Putting More LIFE
Into Still Life
Thursdays, May 25 - June 8, 2023
(3 classes)

10am-12:30pm  ET
$120.00
Live Class Limit: 15

Video-only option:
$99.00

Still life gets a bad rap: it’s boring, stodgy, static. It ALL depends on your approach! Still life can be quiet or bold, staid or radical, observational or conceptual. This course is designed to breathe new life into our practice of still life by examining it from several different artistic standpoints. Beginning with the basics of selecting, arranging and lighting your subjects, we’ll progress from observational  approaches into more adventurous ideas and processes. With his trademark blend of inspiring art history, lively discussion and open-ended artistic challenges, Kal will fan the flames of creative passion for still life aficionados and skeptics alike!

Working from the comfort of your own home/studio, you’ll connect with fellow travel artists through group discussions and a short, real-time exercise during each class, as well as working on a weekly project on your own time between classes.
We will be on the easy-to-use Zoom online meeting platform. Students love my Art History slide shows, and Zoom really shines for this: you get a really good look at the work!

The course is accompanied by a private Facebook Group where you can upload your finished or in-progress homework, plus see and comment on your fellow classmates’ work. It’s a lively, collegial safe space to share your work, and I offer comments on all work posted.

Recordings of live sessions are made available to all participants, so if you can't make the live time slot, you can watch it later.

Video-only Version: $99
The only difference is that you don't join us for the live Zoom class, but rather watch the video replay, which I make available to all enrolled students shortly after each class.  You're able to join the private Facebook group (for sharing, support and feedback with/from your fellow students as well as me) and you can email me one or two questions a week to be addressed during class if desired.

Cost: $120 for 3 live classes,
$99 for video-only version

Your completed payment secures your spot.
