Work, chat & connect while indulging in some cut-and-paste therapy! Getting hands-on is very grounding, and collaging is tons of fun, regardless of level or ability. I'll be working (playing!) and chatting right alongside you. You can use YouTube's chat to ask questions, comment, respond to my questions, etc. My partner, - artist Kim-Lee Kho - sometimes joins us, too! Be sure you request to join our private Virtual Collage Jam Facebook Group so you can share your collages and see what others in the group have made! It's a very supportive group, with tons of great collages and and spirited, collegial discussions. Prompts (Optional!): The optional themes are posted above, but I also email the prompt to the group the Thursday before each Jam. The prompt is simply an optional starting point for you to use or ignore as suits you. These sessions are FREE! Please email me if you're interested in joining using the button below. I send out an email with the prompt for each Jam the Tuesday before, as well as a reminder the Friday before. I also post the prompt in our Facebook group. Your email will NOT be shared with any third parties. Replays on YouTube Did you miss a Collage Jam? No – not really! You can always watch the replay on YouTube later – or catch up with earlier Jams you may have missed – perfect if you want some cozy creative company at any time that suits you. FOR ME, A RURAL ARTIST working in a medium that is not fully understood in my community, Kal and the community he has created is a lifeline… to connect with other artists and to hear their thinking is invaluable. I so appreciate the fact that he has created a Facebook group for us as well, a place that allows us to share with one another and a place I know I will get critical feedback from fellow artists.
– ELAYNE THE COLLAGE JAM brings together a group of art-loving and enthusiastic participants from places near and far. The prompt is always a great starting point to inspire the beginnings of a collage, and from there, each person’s individuality takes over to produce a really unique piece. All the while, the camera is focused on Kal’s skilled interpretation, so we are all learning something as we are doing our own works. Kim deftly fields the comments from the chat group to pull us all together into a shared space of delight and camaraderie. What a joy it has been to regularly take part in these jam sessions!
