Gladstone House neon installation: "At the Corner of Cool & Hot"
In 2021, I was commissioned by Gladstone House curator Lee Petrie to create a neon installation to grace their basement washroom hallway as part of their extensive renovations. I mocked up 5 different designs, and this image of the iconic hotel was winning choice. Executed by Toronto's FUSE Neon, I titled it "At the Corner of Cool & Hot" – since the hotel is very much both, as is the colour scheme. The mirrored bathroom stall doors on either side pick up and repeat the image, amplifying it's impact.
The piece has since been featured on both a limited-edition beer can by Henderson Brewing (they did a great job of incorporating the design into their label!) – and a Gladstone tote bag, too!
