Composition 101
Composition is not rocket science: it is simply visual principals that any artist can learn and apply, regardless of experience, media or the kind of art you do. This fun, focussed course with Kal will demystify the basics of composition through discussion of principles, masterwork examples and plenty of hands-on exercises. You’ll walk away with a quiver full of new ideas that will improve your work – guaranteed!

Colour 101
Deepen your colour understanding and expand your artistic toolbox with this lively, focussed primer. With his trademark mix of masterwork examples, discussion and plenty of hands-on exercises, Kal will demystify the basics of how colour works, how to mix a wide range of nuanced colours, and how to orchestrate your colours to best achieve your goals. Leave straight-out-of-the-tube behind and start mixing with the pros!

Working from the comfort of your own home/studio, you’ll connect with fellow collagers through group discussions and real-time exercises during each class, as well as working on a project on your own time between classes.
We will be on the easy-to-use Zoom online meeting platform.

The course is accompanied by a private Facebook Group where you can upload your finished or in-progress homework, plus see and comment on your fellow classmates’ work. It’s a lively, collegial safe space to share your work, and I offer comments on all work posted.

Recordings of live sessions are made available to all participants, so if you can't make the live time slot, you can watch it later.

Video-only Version: $237.00
The only difference is that you don't join us for the live Zoom class, but rather watch the video replay, which I make available to all enrolled students shortly after each class. You're able to join the private Facebook group (for sharing, support and feedback with/from your fellow students as well as me) and you can email me one or two questions a week to be addressed during class if desired.
